Our Accreditation

Our Accreditation

What is accreditation?
Accreditation is an independent assessment that confirms certification and inspection bodies have the technical competence, integrity and impartiality required to deliver credible certification and assessment services. Independent accreditation is central to building trust in certification results.

ANAB defines accreditation as an independent evaluation of conformity assessment bodies (CABs) against recognised standards to ensure their integrity, impartiality and competence.

Why accreditation?
At Silverstrand Solutions we believe in the integrity of standards and the rigour of the certification and assessment process. That’s why we pursue accreditation for our services wherever possible.

Our Accreditations
As an accredited certification and inspection body, Silverstrand Solutions holds a number of key accreditations.

ISO 17021-1:2015 – Certification Body
This international standard sets out principles and requirements for bodies that certify management systems, ensuring competence, consistency and impartiality of the certification process.

  • ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB).

  • United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).

ISO 17020:2012 – Inspection Body
This standard defines principles and requirements for inspection bodies that assess conformity of inspected items and ensures their competence, consistency and impartiality.

  • United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).

Who accredits us?

Silverstrand Solutions is accredited by the following internationally recognised accreditation bodies and industry regulators, each of which regularly assesses us against international standards to confirm our competence, impartiality and performance:

  • ANAB – ANSI National Accreditation Board (North America)

  • UKAS – United Kingdom Accreditation Service

  • CNAS – China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment

  • EIAC – Emirates International Accreditation Centre

  • FSSC – Foundation FSSC 22000 (food safety scheme recognised by GFSI)

  • IAQG – International Aerospace Quality Group (aerospace supply chain standard)

  • IATF – International Automotive Task Force (IATF 16949 automotive quality)

  • IECQ – IEC Quality Assessment System for Electronic Components

Impartiality statement
Impartiality is fundamental to accredited certification. Certification decisions are based solely on objective evidence of conformity and are never influenced by other interests. We manage potential conflicts of interest rigorously and ensure impartiality is never compromised. In particular, regardless of any consultant involvement:

  • Certification will not be made simpler, faster or cheaper because a consultant was used.

  • Certification decisions are based solely on objective evidence.

Unaccredited certification
Where schemes have no formal accreditation, Silverstrand Solutions still applies the same rigour, competence and impartiality as for accredited services. While unaccredited certification can be quicker or less costly, it may carry risks such as failing to meet contractual requirements, damaging reputation, or wasting time and resources.
